Our Story

We’re Jason and Amy Hughes—a husband-and-wife team who renovate and design homes  together. For us, a good space isn’t just about looks. It’s about how it works for the people living  in it, and how the design and details come together in a way that feels natural, comfortable, and  personal.   


Meet Jason: Renovation Know-How

Jason learned the trade the hands-on way. He grew up building things, started a carpentry business with his brother, and kept sharpening his skills by working with experienced trades people. He’s the one who notices the small things—what’s straight, what’s level, what’s going to last—and he takes real pride in doing the job right.

Meet Amy: Thoughtful Designer

Amy found her passion early, too. Her family flipped houses, so she got to see firsthand how a space can change and how much that change can matter. She followed that interest into interior design, studying the craft and working on projects that taught her how to blend style with everyday practicality. She loves pulling together colours, textures, and layouts that feel effortless, feel good and make sense for real life.

 Together, we bring renovation know-how and thoughtful design under one roof. Our goal is  simple: create spaces that feel good to live in and reflect the people who call them home.

General Project

Timelines vary based on project size, scope, permitting, and material availability. We provide a detailed schedule before work begins.

Costs depend on design choices, finishes, and structural needs. After an initial consultation, we provide a transparent estimate and help you align the project with your budget.

Not always. Smaller projects allow you to stay in your home, but major renovations may require temporary relocation for comfort and safety.

Design & Planning

Yes. We offer full design services, as well as other hybrid design options — finish selections, and styling guidance.

Both. We love collaborating with clients and can also present original concepts tailored to your lifestyle and aesthetic.

Absolutely. We finalize designs, selections, and approvals before any work begins.

We calculate cost per room and/or project. Pricing is based on our experience and price projection of past projects. Of course every project is different depending on the requirements, size and budget. Therefore, we first review each potential project to assess details carefully prior to confirming the final pricing.

Process & Workflow

Typically, it starts with a consultation, followed by a site visit, design phase, detailed proposal, and then construction.

Depending on your needs and project, either a dedicated project manager or lead designer oversees the entire process to ensure communication and execution stay seamless.

We provide regular updates—weekly or as needed—through emails, calls, or in person meetings.

We assess the issue, offer solutions, adjust timelines or budgets as needed, and communicate transparently throughout.

Materials, Products & Vendors

Yes. You can select your own materials, or we can recommend trusted vendors and help with sourcing.

Where possible, we present alternative options and work to keep the schedule moving without compromising your vision. We communicate through the process, deciding on the best move forward together.

Payment & Contracts

Most companies require a deposit followed by scheduled progress payments tied to project milestones. This will all be outlined in the contract before beginning.

After the Project

Change orders are possible. We’ll outline cost and timeline impacts before moving forward.
